What this line is
Wheat Ridge Express Plumbing runs a phone line for people in Wheat Ridge and nearby towns who need a plumber. When you call, you reach a dispatcher who listens to the problem and passes it to a licensed plumbing contractor that works your part of the Denver area.
We do not send unlicensed helpers, and we do not run a call center that reads from a script. The point of the line is to save you from phoning five companies while water is running across your kitchen floor.
Every contractor on the line is licensed and insured, and the plumber who comes to your door is the one who explains the work, the price and the permit steps.
How dispatch to a licensed plumber works
Call
You reach the line and describe the symptom, the location of the water and whether you can get to the shutoff.
Match
The dispatcher chooses a licensed contractor that handles that type of job near your address.
Price
The plumber explains the work and the price. You can say yes or no before anything starts.
Work
If you agree, the plumber does the repair under their own licence and insurance.
How to verify a plumber's licence yourself
You should never have to take our word for it. The Colorado State Plumbing Board, part of the Division of Professions and Occupations, keeps a public licence lookup online. It lists Residential Plumber, Journeyworker Plumber and Master Plumber licences.
Ask the plumber for a name and licence type, then search the lookup on your phone. The City of Wheat Ridge also licenses plumbing contractors, and it requires an applicant to hold a state Master Plumber licence and a state plumbing contractor licence. State law also says the contractor you hire is responsible for pulling the permit, so ask who will do it.
If the name or licence type does not appear, or the plumber cannot give you one, say no and call us back. A short check before the work starts is far cheaper than a repair that has to be redone.
What we do not do
A few honest limits, so you know what to expect from the first call.
- We have no website forms. Everything happens by phone.
- We do not quote prices on the site, because a price depends on what the plumber finds.
- We do not promise an arrival time, since traffic and earlier calls change the schedule.
- We do not do the repair ourselves. A licensed contractor does, and you agree to the price first.
- We do not make claims about reviews, awards or years in business.
Where we are
Our address is 7400 W 38th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033, on the city's main commercial corridor. Wheat Ridge covers about 9.5 square miles and sits at 5,348 feet, with Arvada to the north, Denver and Mountain View to the east and Lakewood to the south.
The emergency line is open 24/7. Our services page lists what we route, and the service area page explains which towns and ZIP codes we take calls from. For the people just north of us, there is a separate page for Arvada.
What the line can help with
Most calls fall into a few groups. Water that will not stop, such as a split supply line or an overflowing toilet, goes to burst pipe repair and toilet repair first. Slow or backed-up drains lead to drain cleaning, and a water heater that leaks or runs cold is a job for water heater repair.
Some calls are planned rather than urgent, like a new fixture, a camera look at the sewer, or a softener install. Those get the same plain conversation about the symptom, the access and the property, so the plumber who comes out already knows what to bring.
If a problem is outside plumbing, the line says so. A gas smell means leaving the building and calling 911 first, and electrical or structural damage needs the right trade. We would rather tell you that on the phone than send someone to the wrong job.
Why the line exists
Plumbing problems rarely arrive at a good time. A cracked supply line at 2 a.m. or a failed water heater on a holiday leaves you searching phone listings with wet socks. A single number that always answers is the simple fix.
If you have questions before you call, the contact page lists what to have ready, such as the symptom, where the main shutoff is and whether you own or manage the property.
